A Limited Edition Fender USA Custom Shop Masterbuilt Stratocaster produced from the specifications of the original 1959 Stratocaster Cliff Richard imported for Hank Marvin to play with The Shadows in 1959. It was the first Stratocaster known to have been imported into the U.K. That iconic "Flamingo Pink" (sic) guitar is reproduced here in accurate detail for the first, and possibly last, time and is only available as part of The Shadows 50th Anniversary Collector Outfit.
A signed Certificate of Authenticity.
A limited edition deluxe leather guitar strap with The Shadows 50th Anniversary logo and the signatures of Hank and Bruce..

Fender Custom Shop Certificate for the CRS-59 Stratocaster
Aside from the Shadows connection and endorsement the original guitar is a an icon in it's own right as the first Fender Stratocaster known and recorded to have been imported into the U.K. The sight of this guitar was enough to inspire several generations of aspiring rock stars to pick up a guitar in the first place.
Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition CRS-59 Stratocaster in "Custom Red"
To mark the 50th anniversary of The Shadows and the iconic Fender Stratocaster that inspired so many influential guitarists to pick up the instrument, Oasis Musical Instruments Ltd, with the approval of Hank B Marvin and Bruce Welch O.B.E., comissioned Fender's Custom Shop Masterbuilder Greg Fessler to re create that magnificent '59 Stratocaster imported by Cliff Richard for Hank to use. The original guitar is now owned by Bruce Welch O.B.E. (a gift from Cliff in the '70's) and was kindly made available by him in order to ensure complete accuracy.

The Edition is Master Built by Greg Fessler and has been granted Limited Edition status by the Custom Shop. (As such the edition will not be extended or repeated). The tuning keys are genuine Kluson Single line gold plated as are the originals.
Limited edition Neck Plate detail
Each one of the Guitars in the outfit carries a Limited Edition serial number with the CRS-59 prefix. This one is Hank Marvin's personal instrument.

Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch have often told the story of how they and Cliff Richard came to order the magnificent 1959 "Flamingo Pink" Stratocaster. This is a rare opportunity to hear another take on the story with some interesting observations by Hank on how rock and roll history might have been slightly different and how he came to develop that sound and style that is so uniquely recogniseable. whilst Bruce Welch, reveals exactly when that Strat was first heard on record. Limited Edition Easy Mute Hank Marvin System Tremelo Bar
The V.M.L. Easy Mute Hank Marvin tremelo bar has been used by Hank for over 10 years. It's unique and innovative design assists palm muting of the strings at the bridge whilst still allowing the player access to the tremelo bar. Ian St John-White at V.M.L. has produced a special Lmited Edition version for the 50th Anniversay Outfit with a unique tremelo tip engraving. Each one is individually serial numbered to match the guitar, and is personally endorsed by Hank B Marvin.
